It was a slightly overcast Sunday morning and we had just stayed with a friend of LuLu’s in Eureka California. The day before we had driven up through the Avenue of The Giants. The Avenue of The Giants is a scenic drive through Humboldt Redwoods State Park. We were on our way to the Redwood National Park to take in more of the majesty of these amazing trees.
Naturally, we pulled into the visitor center upon arriving in the park. Low and behold, what is the first thing we see? A Rebel Blue Volvo C30. Rebel Blue has always been a favorite color of mine when it comes to cars. It stands out without being too flashy. The owner appeared to be hanging out right near the car getting ready to leave. I quickly got out of the car and made my way over to talk to her. Her name was Amy and she is actually the illustrator for an adult coloring book that explores the senses, the body and sexuality. Amy was the owner of the C30 and she was on a road trip of her own. This was her first Volvo and she had fallen in love with it as soon as she saw it. This particular one is a limited edition Polestar C30, number 139/250. This C30 was made only for the 2013 model year. It was based on the R-design with different engine tuning, suspension, polestar badges, matte black wheels, and a few other goodies. This one also happened to be a 6 speed manual!
